Assistants for RDA horse riding required at Linn Park.

Linn Park RDA are looking for helpers to come to the yard to assist with the RDA lessons on Tuesdays. We are looking for helpers to assist in our group lessons which are clubs and schools who may need assistance getting on and off horses, lead whilst riding or someone walking beside them. Grooming and the care of the horses is also involved, general light yard duties, sweeping, feeding and watering. This opportunity is for anyone wanting to help with making the experience as enjoyable as possible for the riders. No experience is necessary, as full training will be given.

You will be working alongside a great team of volunteers.

Riding for the Disabled is a charitable organisation which offers riding for over 150 service users, of varying ages and abilities. We very much rely upon volunteers to assist with the care of the horses and help within the classes. We can't provide this service without you.

This role will mainly consist of assisting within the classes ensuring the riders are safe and enjoying their experience. Bringing the horses into the arena for each class and leading or side walking, grooming the horses, brushing their manes and tails, picking out feet and light yard duties including feeding the horses.

We are looking for kind, caring and committed individuals to join our already great team of help. A reasonable level of fitness is required as half hour walks are involved, however nothing strenuous.

There are main bus links to Glasgow and surrounding areas at the Cathcart side of the park, also buses at the Castlemilk end of the park. If driving the postcode will bring you to the Cathcart side, Simshill Road should be used in satnav to bring you to the Linn Park Golf Course, to which you would then drive through Linn Park to the yard.
